What you will learn
I&T (Information and Technology) Governance is about aligning people, processes and technology to the requirements of the business (Enterprise goals).
I&T Governance provides direction originating from your organisation’s board to guide the IT management and respective staff with their execution to satisfy the enterprise goals. The enterprise goals for I&T is generally determined from the organisation’s balanced scorecard (financial, customer, internal, and growth areas) and a generic list coming from COBIT 2019.
What we will cover
The I&T enterprise goals are used to determine the I&T alignment goals and, ultimately, the customised I&T governance management objectives, which will be followed by your organisation’s I&T department. The masterclass will guide you through a journey of how to establish and cascade through these goals and objectives and ultimately close the gap and relationship between the business and your I&T department.
When it comes to I&T governance and management, there is no wrong or right. It’s all about what suits your organisation’s appetite. This is the forum for you to compare how you are governing and managing your I&T department and to decide what you would think needs to change to add real VALUE to your organisation.
One of the focus areas of the masterclass is the walkthrough of the practices and activities of the 40 I&T governance and management objectives, including the I&T governance domains. This will enhance your knowledge to a level of understanding end-to-end I&T and which of the generic objectives are most applicable for your organisation and how to use the respective practices and activities to improve the maturity level of your I&T department, i.e. technology, process and people.
The goal is to make any of the selected I&T governance and management objectives work effectively and efficiently, thus providing value to your organisation. The masterclass will walk through the components (Enablers) of the I&T governance system, showing how dependent they are on each other and how they help to uplift your organisation’s I&T department to its desired maturity level using the capability levels of COBIT 2019.
During the masterclass, we will also compare COBIT 2019 to the Information Security Standard, ISO 27001 and the Service Management Standard, ITIL 4, demonstrating how these well-known standards compliments and works together with COBIT 2019.
