Prerequisites

We recommend that students have:

  • System administration experience on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems.
  • Understanding of concepts presented in the VMware Data Center Virtualization Fundamentals course for VCA-DCV certification.

Important note: Please be advised that VMware has changed the VCP6 certification requirement from one exam to two exams. VMware has introduced a prerequisite online non-proctored exam:

  • vSphere 6 Foundations (Exam # 2V0-620) that needs to be completed along with the proctored VCP6-DCV exam at a Pearson VUE testing facility. The vSphere Install, Configure & Manage v6.0 and the vSphere Fast Track v6.0 courses aligns perfectly to online vSphere 6 Foundations (Exam # 2V0-620). It is highly recommended that delegates complete the 5-day vSphere Optimize & Scale v6.0 course before attempting the new VCP6-DCV certification exam.
